Communities living at high altitudes in the Himalayas frequently face disaster as a result of climate change. The Glacier Trust provides financial support and expertise for grassroots Non Governmental Organisations working in these high environments, enabling communities to adapt and share their solutions.

Trustees

Our trustees are as follows:

Richard Allen (Nepal)
Robin Garton
Jürg Merz (Nepal)
Peter Osborne
Andy Rutherford

All our trstees have experience in international development. Richard Allen and Jürg Merz are scientists working with NGOs in Nepal and the Himalayas.  Their experience provides the backbone of policy-making and implementation.  Andy Rutherford is Head of International Partnerships at One World Action, an organisation that pioneered the concept of partnership development. His long experience in vetting procedures and developing partnership agreements is invaluable to the Trust’s work. Peter Osborne, a gallery director in London's West End has wide expeience in the Developing World. Robin Garton, the Trust’s founder and director manages the Trust’s day to day administration on a full time basis, and coordinates its policy in association with the other trustees from his home Wiltshire, UK.
